Manu Tilinski was born in Berlin Germany in 1983 and grew up in Athens Greece, Immediately after studies he worked as an assistant editor and then moved to lab work before joining the camera department for good. Manu made over 33 international feature films as a focus puller and a large number of commercials. He lensed his first feature film “Wasted Youth” which opened the Rotterdam IFFR festival in 2012. After 2016 he turned entirely to Cinematography and been awarded by GSC (Greek Society of Cinematographers) for his work on “MANEKI NEKO” plus best Cinematography award for 2018 at Berlin’s INTERFILM Festival, BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY award followed on Saint-Petersburg SPIFF festival completing a total of 5 in 2019. 2020 started with the BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY and Golden Dionysos award in Drama International SFF and the e-FLUX award at the Oberhausen Film Festival for a time piece short film “BELLA” and a special mention” in Vision du Reel. Entering 2021 he lensed the short film “BRUTALIA” which won the Cannal+ award in Semaine de la Critique in 2021 CANNES FILM FESTIVAL, followed by entering at the international competition of Austin’s SXSW in 2022, immediately after he designed and executed 6 episodes of the Greek-Turkish crime mini series “The Bridge” from the Danish Franchise “Broenen”. In 2023 he returned to the 76th CANNES FILM FESTIVAL for the world premier of his latest short “MIDNIGHT SKIN” which later on received the BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY award in Drama International SFF 2023. Until this point he lensed a numerous amount of Commercial spots, Short & Fashion Films, Documentaries and also theatrical plays as Light Designer along with three personal Still Photography exhibition’s.
